The owner, an ex-big-brand muckety-muck, understood the need for brave positioning: He wanted something bold, modern, inviting, and ’unexpectedly’ Mexican. Embracing Mexico’s heritage and diversity, we doubled down on a ballsy proposition — Do Morning Like You Mean It — and created headlines and images that were refreshingly unlike the ho-hum-we’re-slightly-different-from-everyone-else midwestern breakfast places that abound.
